School Group.

We have used Carol Climb for our lower key stage 2 residential trip in the lake district for a good few years. They are excellent with the kids, very knowledgable about environmental facts, and first class canoeing instructors. We intend to use them for the next few years too!! We can not recommend Carol Climb highly enough to other school groups.

Mountain Leader Course

I have just finished my first outdoor training course with carolclimb at Wasdale, the course in my opinion is excellent, a must for anyone out there like myself who have spent many days on the fells and mountains but have not gained the skills to handle those tricky weather days ,when the weather is poor or changeable.
Not anymore though, I now feel that Carol & Richard have given me the knowledge and confidence as well as the practical know how to give it a go, can't thank them enough and look forward to meeting up again for future training.
Once again a big thank for you all your patience, experience and knowledge, a great venue and even better people.

Fast Track Instructor Course

I undertook the Fast Track Outdoor Instructor Course offered by Carolclimb to retrain as an instructor in the outdoor industry. I was with them in Wasdale for 4 months and it was an enjoyable environment to learn in. Carol and Richard and very knowledgable, experienced coaches and it was a pleasure to learn from them. I gained an array of qualifications and they helped me immensely. They are very professional and have high standards, but nonetheless the atmosphere is positive and encouraging. I had a great time and everyone remember 'safety never has a day off!'

ML Training.

I had a very good training week in Wasdale last October. The set-up was very enjoyable, the sessions very informative and the whole atmosphere encouraging and positive. Richard's knowledge about navigation was phenomenal quite inspiring and Carol and Richard offered a good standard for getting ready for assesment.

School Group.

We have used Carol Climb for two years now with a group of teenagers and I have to say their professionalism and experience was second to none. Group control was excellent and they offered a huge variety of activites (canoeing, climbing, expeditions) for all levels of experience. As team leader (and a D of E assessor Bronze-Gold) I would not hesitate to recommend Carol Climb to anyone.

Fast Track Instructor Course.

CarolClimb is an outstanding organisation, who I stumbled on by chance, and I am delighted that I did!!! On returning from an operational tour in Afghanistan, I was keen to spend time in the Lakes formalising my outdoor experiences - ML, SPA and Canoeing/Kayaking.

Carol and Richard, are hugely experienced outdoor people, but are also at the heart of the Wasdale community. The level of instruction is detailed and it is easy to see why they are both extremely well respected in the industry. Both Richard and Carol, coach, instruct and lead in different ways, but both create a challenging and testing learning environment to develop and learn new skills.

Be it a group of youngsters from the inner city or aspiring instructors CarolClimb would be my first choice, I can not highly recommend CarolClimb enough...and time spent with CarolClimb is worth it!

Fantastic people and very experienced.

I have used Caraolclimb for a number of years; they have excellent knowledge, a friendly demeanour and are very encouraging. Carol and Ric have a superb knowledge of the local area and plan their sessions to meet the needs of those they are leading. Aways a delight to see them and a shame to wave goodbye at the end of a fabulous week!

"Mountain Leader Training Course"

Had a fantastic 6 days completing the ML Training course with Carol and Richard from CarolClimb. Firstly, what a great base; after a long drive from Essex I immediately felt refreshed when I arrived at the Youth Hostel. Sitting in its own grounds by the waters edge, a fabulous building full of character, really friendly staff and the views across Wastwater just make you feel good. The course was very comprehensive covering all the relevant aspects in a fun and motivational manner. Carol encouraged good group work and her knowledge of the area is impressive. Particulary enjoyed the expedition and middle of night micro navigation and again, a great choice of location for the wild camp. The course was everything I hoped it would be, the 6 days flew past. Fab!

"A fantastic week"

I went on a CarolClimb Mountain Leader training course with my boyfriend in August 2012 and had an absolutely fantastic week. Being regular walkers and climbers we were originally unsure about how much we would take away from the course but we both learnt so much. Carol and Richard were both friendly and professional and shared a wealth of local knowledge with us. Their passion for what they do and the area they live in is utterly infectious and evident in every aspect of their teaching. I walked away at the end of the five days having learnt my strengths, my weaknesses, a multitude of new skills, and what it means to be leading in the mountains. The skills you learn are incredibly useful be it for leading groups, or just to improve your personal confidence and safety in the mountains, and Carol and Richard teach everything to the highest standard. I will be returning to CarolClimb in summer 2013 to hopefully do my assessment!

“GOING BACK YET AGAIN”

Just booked up again with Carol Climb for my 8th year in a row, again this year taking a party of 30 people 22 of which are school children can't wait to meet up again with Carol and Ric. The pupils again this year are looking forward to the expert instruction for Canoeing, Rock climbing, Absailing and most of all there local knowledge during the 48 hour overnight expedition, there ability to pitch instruction to both adults and pupils is the reason we go back each year.

“Amazing course, beautiful place and I learned loads!”

I had little experience if fell walking and navigating, after a week with Carol Climb (and maybe a little more practice) I can't wait to do my ML assessment! I found the tutors, knowledgable and helpful. Wasdale YHA was a great location for the course! Bring in the assessment.
