carolclimb activities from Blacksail YHA

We have worked at Blacksail on numerous occasions

Blacksail Youth Hostel sits at the top of Ennerdale above the forest and next to the glacial moraines and drumlins. From here Alfred Wainwrights favorite hill and final resting place Haystacks is in easy reach, as are Grey Knotts, the Gables, Kirkfell and Pillar. This was the starting place for Julia Bradbury as she retraced Wainwrights superb route to Pillar via the Robinson cairn, Shamrock Traverse and Pillar Rock. In these mountains you can find some of the finest scrambling and climbing in the English Lake District, with stunning views to match.

It is an ideal location for a wide range of environmental studies, outdoor activities, team building and personal development courses for all ages and abilities.
